Simplify Your Weight Loss Plan
Successful weight loss can be hard to accomplish. Most of us are eager to begin the process, but many of us are not willing to commit. The first thing you will have to accept when it comes to having that sexy beach body you can’t wait to flaunt around the pool is that you will have to change your lifestyle. Achieving the weight loss results you want means YOU have to be dedicated, YOU have to want it. Before you get bogged down from all the possible diet plans, here’s a breakdown of all the basic weight loss tips to help you see the results you want:
1. Routine Exercise Plan
P90X, Jillian Michaels, Insanity, Zumba, spinning, running, tennis, swimming…the list goes on. It seems like everywhere we turn, someone is telling us they have the BEST weight loss exercise routine or plan. Who should you believe? Everyone and no one. Here is the simple truth: any form of exercise that challenges your body will help you get trim, get toned and lose weight. So how do you determine which exercise plan is right for you? The best exercise plan is one that keeps you interested and engaged. Running is great, but it’s not for everyone. If you need more motivation, try group classes. If you’re feeling self conscious to go to the gym or exercise in public, start in the comforts of your own home. Get moving!
2. Healthy Eating
You are what you eat. It’s as simple as that. Having a routine workout plan is only half the battle; the other half is how you eat. You can’t expect to lose weight when you’re mindlessly munching on a bag of chips, popping m&m’s like there’s no tomorrow, or going on late night fast food runs. The recommended amount of sleep is 6-8 hours depending on the individual. Not getting enough sleep opens the floodgates to problems with your body. You are more susceptible to eating comfort foods (donuts never looked so good when your groggy), less prone to working out, more susceptible to stress (which can increase cortisol responsible for producing fat), so on and so forth. Reconsider staying up late to catch up on your favorite TV shows, unless those shows are going to help you on your weight loss plan!
4. Pick Up A New Hobby
Many people struggle with weight loss because of mindless eating and lack of motivation to be active. How many of you are guilty of eating simply because you were…bored? Battle boredom and stay active at the same time! Pick up a new hobby. Take a friend, join a yoga class, try fencing, go hiking, hit the malls, try kickboxing, learn Israeli self-defense with Krav Maga!
5. Keep Track of Your Progress
In the business world, success is measured by analytics and progress reports; your weight loss plan should be no different. Many of us fear the scale. Don’t avoid the scale; embrace the scale. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see any changes or if you see you’ve gained weight (despite all your efforts). Results aren’t going to be instant. Keep track of your weight on a daily basis; if you are ambitious enough, keep track of your calories. Luckily with the help of modern technology, there are many apps on smart phones to help us keep track of our progress (pen and paper work too).
