Acupuncture Experts in Atlanta, GA:
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine that has been around for about 5000 years. While it was traditionally believed in Eastern cultures to balance the flow of energy or life force through the body, it is now believed by western practitioners as a means to stimulate hormones, nerves, muscles, and the connective tissues. While the exact mechanism of action is still unknown, it is hard to deny that those tiny little needles provide some huge results.
What Can Acupuncture Treat?
At our Atlanta Acupuncture Clinic we have over 10 years of experience treating a variety of conditions including:
- Chronic and acute pain
- Lower back pain
- Nausea and vomiting
- Weight Loss
We also perform acupuncture for relaxation, preventative-balancing treatments, and relaxation of the facial muscles.
How Does Acupuncture Work?
During your Atlanta acupuncture treatment, several tiny needles will be inserted into the skin into a variety of points on the body, depending on what is being treated. We only use new, sterile, disposable needles at our clinic. For most patients, the needles will be left in place for about 20 minutes and during that time you are encouraged to relax and move as little as possible. After your treatment, the Dr. will remove and dispose of the needles. You are free to return to normal activity immediately. Acupuncture is considered to be very safe and has no side effects.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Our Atlanta acupuncture treatments have been described as being almost totally painless. The sensation is often likened to pressure or pricking but most patients do not mind it at all.
